About the Club

A community that builds bridges

Rotary Club Madrid Intercontinental Passport was founded in July 2025 in Madrid. Its core is made up of Ukrainians united around a simple and noble idea — to help one another in good deeds, to foster peace and the swiftest possible end to the war in Ukraine, and to strengthen the friendship between Ukraine and Spain.

The initiator and key figure of the project is Luis Gómez-Ojero Martínez — Governor of Rotary International District 2201 (2024–25), whose support opened the club to broad international cooperation. We are convinced that real impact is born where private initiative, diplomacy and human solidarity act together.

Success that endures

In the Rotary spirit of “Service Above Self”, we carry out international, humanitarian and social initiatives. Our flagship project — “Hermanamiento” — is at the heart of this mission.

Hermanamiento

Twinning of Ukrainian communities with cities in Spain and around the world. This is not a symbolic gesture but a working tool: a twinning memorandum can be signed at the city hall.

After signing, the parties can interact directly at the level of municipal administrations — with the Rotary club's support, holding joint events and carrying out social and economic initiatives. The first twinning has already taken place: Chornomorsk (Ukraine) — Calpe (Spain).
